This book examines the relation between modern English poetry and science. The author draws attention to the positive and negative reception of scientific achievements by poets in the twentieth century and contemporary poetry. An analysis of diction, imagery and poetic form is presented. The book also covers some aspects of new fields,like psychotherapy, in which poetry is being used as a means of curing the self.
