Over the last decade, cucumber seed production and supply increased exponentially in mid-hills of Nepal. Popular cucumber varieties in sub-tropics & warm temperate are considered in the program. Several reports have discussed the importance and scope of cucumber seed program, and presented long list of involving farmers. The popularity of cucumber seed program was widely observed. However, very little works exists on socioeconomic impact of cucumber seed production at farming community. The ground reality of the program at farm economy has to be exposed. Based on this fact, detail survey was carried out to uncover the impact of the seed business on living. This book, therefore, provides a socioeconomic status of cucumber seed producing households in mid-hills. The findings can be taken as a good reference of developing agriculture. The earnings from the business are well-mapped and income distribution at household is explained. The analysis should help shed some light on role of seed production and marketing, and should especially be useful to professionals, value chain actors, policy makers, students or anyone else who may be considering agriculture for means of livelihood.
