Lack of freshwater resources in Pakistan is a major hindrance in the development of aquaculture industry in the country and the situation demands for the fish species that can withstand varying salt concentrations. Tilapia is a better choice as the fish is omnivorous, can cope with variable temperature, salt regimes and is amongst the best species for intensive culture system. The present project focuses to optimize growth potential of Nile tilapia at different salinity levels.
