Design and Development of Tractor Drawn Plant Uprooter: Stalk Uprooting Implement
Rajvir Yadav
Plant stalk uprooting of the deep-rooted crops like cotton, castor, pigeon pea etc are carried out manually by 'spade' and 'hand plant puller' hand tools and mechanically carried out with heavy hoe or harrow, mould board plough and straight blade cultivator. All these existing practices are expensive, time consuming and giving lower plant uprooting efficiency with higher draft and power requirement. To offset these problems, tractor drawn plant uprooting implement was designed and developed. Three different shaped uprooting blades were designed in such a manner that they can be easily mounted on cultivator frame through two curved tynes. This book, therefore, provides details of all design parameters, field performance evaluation with drawings, graphs and detailed discussion extensively useful for agricultural, Engineering Students, engineers and agricultural professionals as study material and useful to anyone else, who may be considering helping farm community all over the world.
