Dr. Udayar?s research determined that student character education had no direct influence on student academic achievement. However, student character education was determined to have a positive influence on student behavior. Significantly, good student behavior had a positive influence on student academic achievement. The research compared data from 55 Texas middle schools that implemented character education programs with data from another 55 Texas middle schools without such programs.
