Agricultural Consultancy at Each Village: a New Model for Agricultural Extension Prakash Atkare

Farmer is the immense important part of any society. Farming is the only business which can feed the world. But in developing countries like INDIA, most of the farmers are not getting required information in their farming business at proper time, due to which they follow old practices and can not get good yields. Hence to give correct information,required by a farmer at proper time, will be the key for increase in yield level. But it becomes difficult for a farmer to get in touch with expert or to approach any institution giving advice, for proper farming practices. Hence it will be very much useful for a farmer, if Agricultural Consultancy is available at his own village. A farmer can get information as and when required as per his convenience and will be able to implement the same in his farm. A computer based package or software containing all information of the farming and which can give proper advice, can work as a Expert at village level. Any person at village level can run this computer based consultancy and help the farmers to get any information at his own village. This is the new Model of Agricultural Extension that is "Consultancy at Each Village"
