Oinam Bijaya Devi
This Book was a product of a survey record of 800 aged persons in Manipur, north-eastern India. An attempt was made to provide baseline data for developing intervention programme inputs from regional level planning and implementation of welfare programmes among the aged persons of Manipur. Multidimensional problems of the aged population were examined objectively at individual and household level information using suitable statistical techniques. Correlates of health status were calculated using Linear Logistic Regression while Cox Proportional Hazard Model helped in understanding the survival distribution of staying healthy. Likewise, Loglinear Model was used for examining the nature of association between physical disabilities and biological factors of age and sex. Multiple Classification Analysis was adopted for further knowledge of aged and loneliness, the psychological aspect of illness. This work will be helpful to policy makers, demographers and specifically to researchers for further investigation of the complexities of aged population.
