Challenges of Unga & Reformation of Unsc
Sarder Kaisar Ahmed
Taking the concept of the world peace, the United Nations set out its mission and vision for maintaining the world peace and security. The UNGA and the UNSC are the two important organs for achieving the goal of the UN. But, the years passed and the international politics faced by the UN were not so satisfactory for upholding the philosophy of peace. Today, the UNGA has been just a discussion house and gathering place for the world leaders without having any enforcement powers. On the other hand, the UNSC has possessed the exclusive powers exercising the veto power. So, there is no bifurcation between these two organs. Now-a-days, the speech of bifurcation of the powers and functions between these two organs has been emerged throughout the world. However, in my research , the loopholes of the bifurcation of powers between these two organs of the UN have been vividly described. The major challenges faced by UNGA and the impediments of reformation of UNSC are the main findings of my research which are described on the basis of critical and legal analysis.
