Participation of women in organizations have been subject of discuss both in academia and social circles. The strategies put in place by governments have been debated at length. this study presents the voices of women in university leadership in selected private and public universities in Kenya. It was essential to listen to the experiences of women in university leadership with a view of understanding the underlying cause of the under-representation of women in universities in Kenya despite progressive legal and institutional framework that are sensitive to women. The study presents a model that explain the challenges that women face in their quest for leadership at universities.
