Non-linear Frequency Translation Technology: Effects of Non-linear Frequency Translation Technology on Speech Recognition Scores in Individuals with Sloping Hearing Loss
Nagaraju C.
In sensorineural hearing loss due to poor frequency resolution, the high frequency amplification leads to distortion thereby resulting in poorer speech discrimination and understandability. The present study explains about the nonlinear frequency translation hearing aid show better speech performance compared to conventional hearing aids. There was a significant difference between speech recognition performances in the two hearing aid settings. A slight overall improvement can be noted for nonlinear frequency translation hearing aid than for conventional one.
