Philosophy as a field of study has diverse sub-branches which encompass logic, epistemology, anxiology as well as metaphysics. From an analytical perspective the current volume on Philosophy of Education considers how these diverse branches of philosophy apply in the domain of Education. Apart from that the schools of philosophical thought - idealism, realism, pragmatism, existentialism, empiricism are looked into comprehensively as they apply to Education. Classical philosophers' theories of knowledge from Plato, Quintilian, Rousseau, John Dewey, John Locke to Bertrand Russel are considered with respect to there theories' applicability to Education. Lastly contemporary theories such as progressivism, essentialism, perrenialism and social construction are comprehensively analyzed as the philosophically relate to the field of Education.
