The art of medieval Azerbaijan occupies an independent, significant place in the artistic heritage of the East, the sources of which are founded on deep layers of ancient oriental civilizations. Talented architects of medieval Azerbaijan had by right a deserved reputation, their high professional qualities were embodied in outstanding works of monumental architecture. Just in these monumental edifices which were included in state program, where great human and material resources were put and were concentrated creative efforts of big architects something inimitable, new and progressive was created extending the palette of architectural-artistic means. The Innovatory ideas of the period compositional methods, the technology of processing and manufacture of building materials, decorative principles were incarnated in them.
