Psychological Reflections on Post-modernist Gothic Literature
Danielle Carr
Within the canon of historical and modern Gothic literature, from Goethe's Faust, to Federici, Edgar Allan Poe, and Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, the themes and imagery in three original psychological thrillers, The Conservatory, Psychosis, and the colonial novella The Lady of Tangiers, are analysed according to psychoanalytical theory of C. G. Jung, revealing creative writing as a reflection of the psychic process of the individual.
