It is obvious that geography has occupied a distinctive place in the world of learning for many years. Geography has a long history and has long played a part in providing an integrated study of the complex reciprocal relationship between human societies and the physical components of the earth. Over the years, the teaching of geography in schools has been guided by the conception of what geography is perceived to be. This indicates the urgent need for understanding the student perceptions of geography as a discipline.
