Qebena-english Bilingual Dictionary: Using Machine Translation Sebsibe Hailemariam

In the era of globalization, communication among languages becomes much more important. Computer as a tool to help facilitating communication between different languages has been used more actively. People have been hoping that natural language processing and speech processing can assist in smoothing the communication among people with diverse languages. The intention of this research was modeling Qebena-English corpus based bilingual dictionary using statistical machine translation. Thus, bilingual dictionary is very supportive to facilitate communication among different languages, Qebena-English Bilingual dictionary would be very helpful for students as learning aid and for Qebena language speaking people who want to understand the translation of Qebena texts in English. There are huge amounts of useful documents in English, which are not accessible for Qebena language speakers with lack of knowledge of the English language, so translation of texts from Qebena to English is necessary for making these useful documents accessible and available.
