This book evaluates the productivity of the phenomenon of 'h aspiré' in French and to devise a successful phonological representation of 'h aspiré' words within the phonological and lexical systems of the French language. The representation of 'h aspiré' is discussed with respect to syllable structure and segmental structure, and in the context of the organization of the French lexicon into core and periphery strata.
