The field of self-initiated expatriates is well researched, but the research on self-initiated expatriate entrepreneurship is lacking. This research is trying fill in this gap. The research is build up around a central research question: Why self-initiated expatriates decide to start their businesses in Denmark? The research will try to get a picture of the concept of self-initiated expatriates, expatriate entrepreneurship and motivational factors influencing the entrepreneur. The study is qualitative, using case studies, conducted by semi-structured interviews with self-initiated expatriate entrepreneurs in Denmark.
