A set of four experiments pertaining to agro- physiological response of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) sown at different dates to phosphorus application, influence of band placement of farmyard manure with different phosphorus levels on productivity of wheat, optimizing phosphorus and zinc requirements for increasing productivity of wheat under arid climates and agro-physiological response of some wheat cultivars to differential phosphorus fertilization were conducted at the Experimental Farm, University College of Agriculture, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan (Pakistan). Experiments were carried out for two consecutive years (2005-2006 and 2006-2007). The soil was a calcarious clay loam and the climate was arid in nature. Each experiment was replicated four times in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with split plot arrangement. The crop was sown as per sowing dates in Experiment-I while in all other experiments, sowing was done during the second week of November each year. The data on various agronomic and physio-chemical characteristics of the crop were recorded following standard procedures.
