Coming out Effects on Religious Practices of Urban Gays and Bisexuals: a Quantitative Study
Beth Limberg
This dissertation looks at how the coming out process of urban lesbians, gays, and bisexual men and women affects their religious practices. Particular behaviors examined were religious attendance in a church setting, private religious practices like praying, and intrinsic religiosity. The author traveled to 4 different metropolitan cities in California in order to gather data from participants. The religion focused upon in this paper is the general Christian faith. It is hoped that this research will enlighten us all as to how religious practices may change as a person develops into their sexual identity.
