This book presents a lot of wonderful microscopic-scale photographs of the primary weathering products of almandine (one of very common mineral on earth) and a step-by-step weathering process. A series of electron microscopic technique, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and electron diffraction pattern analysis (EDPA), was documented as a powerful tool to obtained such in-depth data and microphotographs.
