Drug use continues to be a major problem among the students of today. This study takes a look at drug testing as one of the major preventative measures schools are using. The question of effectiveness has been raised by many of the stakeholders in the education arena, and the skeptics continue to hold a strong voice. By comparing reported drug use of students in schools with drug testing policies and those without, we can catch a glimpse of the true effects of these policies. In addition, those who have a key role in the implementation of such policies, the administrators, can give insight into the observed effects of these policies. Both students and administrators give their voice here to lend insight about the use of student drug testing policies used with competetive extra-curricular activities.
