Small firms and entrepreneurship play a vital role in sustaining the efficiency of an economy. Earle and Sakova (1999) report that the birth of entrepreneurship in transition countries was mainly due to the characteristics of entrepreneurs. In this book are analysed the characteristics of Kosovar entrepreneurs, self-employees and non- entrepreneurs. The main aim is to identify which could be a potential group to enable the growth of entrepreneurship and the sustainable economic development of Kosovo. The book provides a review of the entrepreneurship theories and the recent trends in the Kosovo economy. I explore the characteristics of entrepreneurs and the self-employed. The hypotheses of this research are based on the main entrepreneurship characteristics and theories. This book offers empirical analysis of entrepreneurship and provides a profile of Kosovar entrepreneurs, the self-employed, and non-entrepreneurs. Finally there are a policy recommendations and conclusions. The target group of this book are university students, researchers, policy makers, foreign investors, international organisations and financial institutions.
