Girls' Education as Fredom? Elementary education dramatically enhances girls' skills and understanding leading to an increased level of Capability. Despite such enhanced Capability, girls are unable to control the direction of their own lives. Girls require additional resources in terms of societal suppport, assured livelihood and working systemic networks to achieve a state of effective freedom and well being. This book argues that adolescent girls must be supported by education programmes that bring robust learning outcomes at secondary level. They also require responsive economic, social and political systems to experience effective freedom. This book offers a framework for action.
