The Voorlees Express: ...a Program Analysis on the Facilitation of Social and Cultural Capital Through Reading Elaine Sierra

Theory essentially holds, that the more capital one posses', the more they will prosper within modern society. The Voorlees Express is a reading project in the Netherlands designed for children and since it's introduction in 2006 the project has worked to ease some of the socio-cultural challenges associated with becoming an increasingly globalized nation. Recently receiving national media attention, a visit from the Dutch Princess Maxima and the 2010 European Language-Label Award (Europees Talenlabel) for innovative language education, it is concluded in this sociological investigation that the Voorlees Express is indeed a favorable starting point for non-native Dutch people to increase their levels of both social and cultural capital.
