Counseling After Bone Marrow Transplantation: Effect of Counseling on Patient's Compliance After Bone Marrow Transplantation Nahed Mersal

Bone Marrow Transplantation ( BMT) is the process of replacing diseased or damaged bone marrow with functioning one. This study was aiming to study the effect of counseling on patient?s compliance after bone marrow transplantation through assessment of patient?s learning needs ,patient?s knowledge and compliance with therapeutic regimen . To conduct this study a convenience sample of 60 patients undergo BMT procedure was selected from Nasser Institute . They were divided into two groups the study and control groups . The study group received counseling program . The patient?s knowledge ,performance and compliance were evaluated . The results of this study showed significant difference between two groups regarding their knowledge and compliance with therapeutic regimen after counseling program implementation . This study concluded that the patients? knowledge and compliance with therapeutic regimen improved after counseling program implementation . This study recommended the presence of centers for counseling BMT patients.
