A good clinician should have a firm knowledge of oral pathologies, which is the science for understanding the intricate biological behavior of particular group of lesions. The approach to understanding oral disease processes will assists the clinician in the recognitions of specific conditions and in the development of differential diagnosis, rational treatment approach and prognosis. There are several excellent textbooks available on oral and maxillofacial pathology. However, the attempt has been made in this book to provide the basic understanding of a disease process of oral hamartomatous lesions. We tried to classify the oral hamartomatous lesions and we have discussed their pathological process towards their hamartomatous nature, clinical presentation, histological features, treatment and prognostic aspects. A book on oral hamartomatous lesions has been written with a view to present the type of pathological process and better understanding to the clinicians, surgeons, dentists, undergraduates and postgraduates. It is a humble attempt to find the niche for the clinicians with the current information about the oral hamartomatous lesions.
