Spatial Analysis of Rural Literacy Pattern in Punjab: Variations in Literacy Patterns in Punjab and the Factors Accompanying This Variation Hanayya Iftikhar

Regional variations deserve special considerations in developing future strategies for the promotion of literacy in the country. As long as backward regions are not brought at par with the developed; and the male and female disparities are not reversed, it is unconceivable to have balanced socio-economic development and political stability. This study aims at pointing out the aggregate measure of rural literacy and its variation across districts of Punjab that in turn will help to identify the areas that need upgrading and improvement in education indicators.
