Manipuri Verbs: the Concept of Manipuri Verbs, Formations,syntactivization, Nature and Properties in Manipuri Verbs Bidyarani Mayengbam

The main thrust of this research is to identify the verbs in Manipuri, Formations of Manipuri verbs and to classify them accordingly to their categories. Manipuri verbs are bound forms it has its own properties; the main properties are bound verbal root, not inflected for person, gender and number. The usual word order is SOV construction. Mainly all Manipuri verbs are formed by adding aspect markers. Manipuri verbs are syntactically divided into two that is Transitive and Intransitive and semantically divided into three that is Action, Process and Stative verbs. The study of Manipuri verbs will benefit to the researches of language and linguist as well as students of Manipuri languages and it also be helpful to the second language learners.
