It is reality that in other countries the researchers, psychologists and educationists have gone deep to explore the potentials of variety of needs. But therefore, in Pakistan neither any commission on National Education nor any Education Policy proposed or recommended the research studies to assess or identify the students needs, wants, urges, aims, drives, goals and motives etc. Due to which after a short time all curricula have lost their values and slowed down the achievement of educational objectives. Thus the identification of these needs is also necessary before a suitable strategy for the process of development of curriculum starts because needs are the actual sources of motivation and the sure foundations of curriculum development process. Here in Pakistan, it is an urgent need to discover,to purify, to determine and to diagnose the constructive urges, drives, wants, aims, goals and motives etc. This study had been designed to identify the students needs which might serve as per-requisites for the successful development of curriculum at secondary level. This study also has unraveled the vast realm of research that may be undertaken to investigate the influence of each need.
