Plants active principles of Hygrophila spinosa, Withania somniferra, Zingiber officinalis, Solanum trilobatum, Andrographis pniculata and Psoralea corilifolia and cod liver oil are delivered through Artemia to Peneaus indicus and P. monodon post larvae. Further various activities like anti stress, growth promoters, appetizers, tonic, immunostimulants and antimicrobials are proved by various protocols in the herbal diets fed shrimp PLs.. The herbs enriched Artemia fed Post larvae got the improved survival, better growth performance and efficiencies , highest protein level, increased food consumption, resistance against stress induced diseases and antimicrobial capabilities. The findings of the above study would be highly useful to produce the quality shrimp seeds.
