This book deals with the subject of pesticide residues, an important topic related to the monitoring of pesticide residues in water, soil, fruits and vegetables found in the cotton growing areas of Pakistan and also focused over the human health problems as a result of pesticide residues. The literature is reviewed to date and the methodology and experimental work is well defined from the technical point of view. This study confirms the gravity of the problem and reveals that the pesticide residues have reached to even deeper aquifer. This could lead to a disastrous situation, if not checked on emergency basis through a rational strategy to ensure both agricultural growth and environmental quality. The pesticides contaminate water, soil and food and accumulate in the soil for relatively longer period of time and then passed into various parts of the plant grown on the contaminated soil. The work would ultimately to control pesticides and would also be helpful in building up the public awareness to keep safe from the harmful effects of pesticides. The book would be helpful for students and for professionals dealing in use and management of pesticides.
