The study examined lower grade forest resources classified by early foresters as 'minor' forest resources. The lower grade resources now play major role in sustainable management of our forests due to resource evaluation focus that shifted to species of low economic value as categorized by classical foresters. Emphasis is placed on forest resources utilization shifting focus from timber only to both timber and Non Timber Forest Products(NTFPs)to present another composite picture of the environment and the shift in paradigm from the position of early foresters.
