Information, Education and Communication (Iec)strategy: Lessons Leant from Mafwomero Forest Reserve, Tanzania Fanuel Shechambo

The Information, Education and Communication (IEC) strategy for conservation of the Eastern Arc Mountains Forest (CMEAMF) in Tanzania aims at raising the level of awareness and knowledge on the importance of forests, thereby promoting behaviour change and positive attitude toward forest conservation. IEC strategy activities were piloted in four villages surrounding Mafwomero Forest Reserve, in Mpwapwa District. Has the community knowledge, attititude and behaviour toward forest conservation changed? To what extent have different stakeholders participated in the IEC activities?
