Standardization of Medicinal Plant- Chlorophytum Borivilianum: Parameters to Identify Genuine Drug (Chlorophytum Borivilianum)with That of Adulterated Drug Gunosindhu Chakraborthy

Chlorophytum borivilianum(Liliacea) is an important medicanlplant ussed in our Traditonal System of Medicne to treat various diseases like anti-inflammatory, as aphorodiasac, nervine stimulant, in fertility and libido asoociated problems. Few active constitutents have been reported from the plant, which mainly inculdes sarsasapogenin, steroidal saponins, Asparocides,stogmasterol and phenolic compounds. In this work the importance of standardization is shown with respect to its morphology, micrscopy, various physicochemical parameters and other parametres like Fluroscence and thin layer chromatographic techniques which will depect the difference between geunine drug to that of adulterated drug. Thus this study deals with all the detail parametes that will help the drug for its authentication and identification of the plant.
