This book attempts to address, carbon sequestration potential in Jnanabharathi campus, Bangalore University, India. The present study area has a total land of about 449.74 ha with rich vegetation sector and the total amount of both above ground carbon (AGC) and below ground carbon (BGC) was estimated an average of 54.799 t/ha with the total carbon worth of $4.92 lakhs is sequestered at present. The total amount of carbon dioxide assimilated into the trees in terms of both above ground and below ground biomass was estimated an average of 200.931 t/ha. In order to increase the carbon sinks it is necessary to carry out the afforestation and has to protect from the anthropogenic activities.
