Diabetes is long term degenrative disease with severe micro and macrovascular complications. Urinary Tract infection(UTI)is a common infection observed in patients with diabetes mellitus. However the exact relationship with diabetes and UTI is still controversial this book addresses UTI as a severe infection encountered in diabetic patients. This work elucidates the prevalence of the most frequent pathogens causing UTI in a diabetic state, antimicrobial resistance pattern in uropathogens,distribution of virulence genes which may have the role in the progression of the infection,markers of the inflammatory process and alternative drug regimes in the form of herbal extracts like Curcumin which can be utilized as a treatment of UTI especially in diabetic patients belonging to the economically deprived population.
