Coastal Zone Management in Yogyakarta Province: Study of Coastal Physical Typology for Coastal Zone Management Using Remote Sensing Data and Gis Technique Nurul Khakhim

The continuous process occurred at the ocean and land created a certain coastal typology based on the genesis process and its building material, thus every certain coastal typology will give characteristics to the landscape and various resources on the coastal zone. By zoning the coastal typology from its physical aspects of the land (subsequently called coastal physical typology), it will ease in doing a correct coastal planning and management according to its condition. This response-process system divide the coastal physical typology into seven classes including coastal typology of land erosion coast, sub aerial deposition coast, volcanic coast, structurally shaped coast, wave erosion coast, marine deposition coast and coast built by organism. Recommendation for developing and managing coastal zone in area of interest is by developing the coastal natural resources suitable to its physical typology, because this will make the management of coastal zone for continuous development easier
