The present study is intended to understand the socio-cultural and behavioral aspects pertained to health and disease among the Yanadis. Further the over all goals are to arrive at a comprehensive picture about health status, and cultural construction of health and disease among the Yanadis. Keeping in view of the objectives of the study, the present study was designed to provide an insight in to the locale of the study and the methodology adopted for selection of the sample units of the study. Further it also through light on the methodology adopted for collection of the required information from the sampling units by using different anthropological methods. For a long time Yanadis depended upon their own indigenous medicine to treat various afflictions. Their medical practices seem to have proceeded almost independently without any acculturation with other medical systems. Yanaidis are also subjected to a sense of contradiction and conflict between allopathic and indigenous treatment.
