As energy and economy are closely linked, it is realized that a growing Kenyan economy will demand higher levels of energy consumption especially in the transportation and power generation industries. The increased environmental awareness and constrained world petroleum supply has drawn attention to exploration of alternative fuel for the diesel engines. Non-edible vegetable oils may offer such an alternative.
