Child abuse is a very important and spiteful issue, with tremendous effects on victim?s later life and society as a whole. Child abuse phenomenon was firstly made public in 1874, by the famous dreadful case of Mary Ellen, who was abused by her stepmother. Since then society tries to define, identify and prevent child abuse. This book involves a research carried out, in order to investigate whether people perceive child abuse in a different way, depending on their age and parental status. General issues related to child abuse and associated implications are also discussed.
