This book tests the market efficiency of Indian Stock Market with respect to information content of events in the Banking Industry. The efficiency in the context of capital markets, refer to the incorporation of expectations and information of all market participants into the prices of financial assets. To analyze the event which contains information, one should have adequate knowledge about corporate events. It may be possible for the institutional investors to take favourable decisions because they have the advantage of Research & Development Wing. But it is very difficult for Indian small and medium investors to analyze this information. This study would facilitate them to take appropriate investment decisions. The study results may be encouraging and useful to the finance professionals, analysts, investors and the regulatory agencies because the usefulness of accounting information for investment decision making has been indicated by the results of this study.
