Entrepreneurship is seen as a means of creating employment opportunities to overcome the rising youth unemployment and nations are making efforts to promote the concept. Entrepreneurship is strongly link with opportunities, which come in different forms and require individuals to possess strong entrepreneurial skills. The inability of the youth to recognize entrepreneurial opportunities in and around their environment, led to their inability to engage in self-employment that is seen as an important source of employment, livelihoods and economic dynamism (OECD, 2001). This book provides an assessment of the entrepreneurial opportunities and challenges associated with opportunity recognition in the Ghana. It also gives an assessment of both the skills the youth possess and their ability to acquire appropriate skills to exploit the existing opportunities within the local economy as sources of employment. Major challenges of the youth include lack of funding, lack of skills and the none-existence of well-developed skills training institutions. It is therefore imperative for authorities of the local economy to collaborate with institutions for youth skills training and funding.
