About one-sixth of patient encounters are perceived by clinicians as involving "difficult patients. These patients often require special attention because their care is very complex and have ethical pitfalls. There are fewer studies on the difficult patient encounter in physiotherapy practice as opposed to other health professions such as medicine and nursing. However, behavioural problems of patients and patient satisfactions are some of the areas physiotherapists have found very difficult. This book presents a study on physiotherapists? perception and strategies for the management of the difficult patient.
