English summary: The province of Scythia Minor, which lay between mouth of the Danube and the western shore of the Black Sea, represented in the 7th century an important outpost of Constantinople from both a military and church-political perspective. At the same time this region was over the centuries an important European zone of ethnic convergence. This point is illustrated by three cities, which, with their historically developed coexistence among diverse cultural and urban traditions, are the focus of the present study. A reconstruction of the changes in urban structures set against the background of the development of Christianity into a central entity of state and society in late antiquity is attempted using the example of the former Greek colonies of Histria and Tomis (Constanta) and Tropaeum Traiani (Adamclisi), a city founded in the Roman imperial period. At the center of the study stands the reconstruction of the changes in the urban institutions of the cities through an analysis of the vertical and horizontal relationships of the newly established churches and cemeteries as well as previously neglected areas such as the city walls and the residential and handcraft complexes.
