The Female Lens Prix Pictet

What are the most critical issues of our time, and how does contemporary fine art photography explore these issues? For years, the Pictet Group has been asking this very question and awarding the Prix Pictet to the most impressive creative responses. This edition focuses on two issues that share an urgency that is virtually impossible to outdo: the fight for gender equality and the quest to live sustainably.


Fiona Shields, Head of Photography at The Guardian, has compiled works by about 50 female fine art photographers, illustrating the vast range of the 'female lens.' These visual masterpieces are accompanied by three essays penned by women who have forged a place for themselves in the world of art and photography.
