Ancient Mediterranean sites are explored from archaeological, historical, theological perspectives. They demonstrate various ways of transformation, from their origination, their sometimes century-long existence, their demise and sometimes radically modified renovation. The contributions are related by the question of continuity and discontinuity of the histories of sacred sites and spaces.
