River regulations by controlled structures are building to get maximum benefits and judicial management of monsoon flood water. The mighty Damodar river of India is known as 'Sorrow of Bengal' faces several types of regulation from ancient times to present causing upstream aggradation, bank erosion and instability in lower reach of the river.
