The Fukushima Nuclear Accident (2011) tipped over the status quo of the nuclear energy sector in the favour of fervent sceptics & paved the way for a severe global setback of public perception regarding nuclear power plants. In the subsequent years, a nuclear power phase-out operation began to gain momentum amongst nations of the EU and Asia, which continues till today. Even amid such tumultuous state of affairs, the nuclear community has been steadily inching towards next-generation evolutionary designs of nuclear reactors with emphasis on enhanced safety and minimal waste features. In this book, precedence has been laid on the most widely used reactor in nuclear power plants, namely, the Pressurized Water Reactor which is inherently self-stabilizing and self-regulatory. The design principles of a Pressurized Water Nuclear Reactor are presented in the form of an analytical model along with the control aspects, which may be simulated on software packages. The analysis and discussions may prove useful for undergraduates, masters' students and enthusiasts interested in understanding the viability of nuclear power in modern times.
