Scientific Knowledge Production in the Yemeni Sociological Field Tawfik Sultan

The article dealt with the scientific knowledge production in the Yemeni Sociological field. The article concluded that the Social Reflexivity of the Yemeni Academic Sociological field is weak as well as the understanding of its members for the reality and pressing issues of the Yemeni society. The results of that is erosion of the subjective criticism and correction under the weak institutional academic function. Yemeni academic sociology field was not founded on a scientific and academic need to address reality issues in accordance with subjective intellect of a social particularity. Moreover, a part of the field was associated with Marxist epistemology dependency by the scientific structuring of most of the first-generation sociologists. In another part, it was dependent to theoretical trends flourishing in the capital western societies. Now all these take place in middle of intellectual conflict between regional and Islamized political forces dominating the academic field under socio-political coalitions governed by traditional allegiances for controlling elites and their traditional thinking.
