Ramagiri hill forest is a good reserve of medicinal plants in Karimnagar district of Telangana, India. It is a sacred groove and historical site. There are 150 medicinal plant taxa recorded which represent 55 angiosperm families. Papilionaceae are the dominant family with 10 species, followed by Caesalpiniaceae eight, (seven each) Apocynaceae, Combretaceae, Cucurbitaceae and Mimosaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Malvaceae and Rubiaceae (five each). Plant habit-wise, the herbs dominante (57 species), followed by trees (50), shrubs (36), climbers (6) and parasites (1) as source of medicines. This study underscores the need to declare Ramagiri hill as a Medicinal Plant Conservation Centre.
